Inspirational quotes by Steve Jobs

One or two years back when I used to blog regularly, I remember that I used to put a lots of blog posts about quotes from great people. I also remember using the quotes meticulously in my works to put forward a point or take the conversation forward. I haven't been using quotes that frequently these days but thanks to Kiran, who writes the Shankhnaad blog, I have got the marvelous opportunity to share some great quotes with you.

Steve Jobs has been the most inspirational person in my life. During my engineering degree, I used to listen to his videos everyday. There was a group in my college who called themselves official fans of Steve jobs, I was a proud member of that group. We used to quote him, always tried emulating him and tried to think like him.

Save our dear friend Jumbo

Life of every animal on this planet is as important as the life of a human being. Sometimes in our arrogance we forget that this planet is also the habitat for millions of animals. We tend to think that we rule this planet and those who don't fit according to our plans have to die.

Elephants are the gentle giants. Though they are really huge in size but by nature they really calm and peaceful animals. They live as a group where the older elephants look after the young ones. You will be surprised to know that these huge animals are vegetarians and they only eat plants and trees as food. They need high intake of nutrients to sustain they body hence eat a lot of plants.

The problem starts here, these days the forest land is rapidly shrinking and they hardly get enough plants and trees to fulfill their nutrient needs. In the process of finding food they end up reaching the human habitats which have come really near to the forests and in many places humans have settled down the cutting down forests. This leads to human-elephant conflicts which have taken lives of many elephants. Many of them are trapped and killed every year. Many elephants also end up dying by coming in-front of trains and trucks.

We need to understand that they are still living in their own habitat only, it is us who have gone into their place. We should respect every animal and understand that they have equal rights over the natural resources as we do. With great power comes great responsibilities, we as the most intelligent species on earth have to understand the value of diversity and the value each species have.

We are still working on recreating the lost species like dinosaurs and saber tooth. Mammoth, who is a distant relative of the elephant species are already extinct. Now, it is upon us to decide that do we want our next generation to see elephants and want them to read about elephants only in the books.

The Muthoot Group, one of India’s leading business conglomerates, in partnership with World Wild Fund for Nature- India (WWF-India) has launched a partnership for elephant conservation; the project is dedicated towards effective management of human-elephant conflict (HEC) and protecting the habitats of Asian elephants across six states in India.

This partnership will catalyse and strengthen the existing efforts of managing HEC across these six states, in four priority landscapes and one priority site as earmarked by WWF-India. These include North Bank landscape in Arunachal Pradesh, Kaziranga and Karbi-AFnglong in Assam; Terai Arc landscape in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar; Western Ghats landscape in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and also some parts of northern West Bengal. This partnership will also help scale up the existing efforts by identifying strategic conflict management measures specific to each region and enforce legislation to protect elephants.

Group has been doing CSR , for over 800 years, perhaps even before the term was coined. This was done in terms of educational , health care etc for the 5000 odd workers of the Family who were employed for clearance of Forest area and plantations on an authorization given as “koop” , by the Maharajah of Travancore, nearly 800 years ago.

Elephants are also thought really sacred as one of our Hindu god Lord Ganesha also bears the face of elephant. This shows that in our tradition, we have always been people who respect and love animals.I was really happy to see that at-least someone is working towards saving these wonderful animals. Elephants or Jumbo was also the mascot of the asian games that took place in our country. Our country has always been proud of our natural resources and animals.

I hope that because of these initiatives we would be able to create awareness about the problems Elephants face and could help them be safe in the home which we call earth,

Things that define my mother

The word mother is itself a word of respect for me as for being a mother a person sacrifices lots of things. Their life, their health and their job. I think mother is that one person everybody loves. They have the utmost value in your life.

The person whom I respect the most in my life is my mother, I can't imagine my life without her. The way she has helped me grow in life has made me all I am today. It was not just about studies but also about the outlook and the confidence she imparted in me. The self belief which I use to get just by seeing her work and giving her 100% every day.

My mother left her job for taking good care of me. She had a government job but she preferred taking care of me over everything, while I was growing up she got many offers but she refused them all saying if I can't give time to the most important work in my life then no other work is important.

It is beyond a doubt that she was the best mother one can have but this hardly stopped her from pursing her passions.

She was an extremely creative person a she used to draw and sketch whenever she used to get time. Now we have more than 1000's of work of her in our house.

Her creativity didn't stopped to that, she was amazing in creating DIY stuffs for our home. She has created some amazing stuffs which we proudly showcase in every part of our house.

She also mastered knitting and presented each of us with wonderful gifts. I think her sweaters get compliments from each and every relative of ours.

She has also kept the reader in her alive, she reads everyday, from newspapers to novels.

One of the most important thing that stops me from eating outside is her delicious food. She can so many different varieties of food that if she can write 10 books on them. From dosa to paw bhaji and from rajma to kadi, she cooks the best food in this world. I think the taste in her food comes from the fact that she enjoys cooking.

I feel it is really hard to limit a creative person with just one label. She has been the best Mother and wife. She is an amazing artist, a  painter, a DIY creator, an avid reader,an outstanding "chef", a knitter but most importantly a wonderful human being who has taught many people how to live their life by being a wonderful example.

Death is the beginning ?

If today is the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today ? - Steve Jobs

I read it somewhere so I though I should share it with you all.

As soon as you die, your identity becomes a "Body". People use phrases like "bring the body", "lower the body", "take the body to graveyard", etc. People don't even call you by your name whom you tried to impress whole life...Live a life to impress the creator not the creation.

Take chances, spend money on the things you love, laugh till your stomach hurts, dance even if you are too bad at it. Pose stupidly for photos. Be child-like. Moral of the whole thing is Death is not the greatest loss in life.....loss is when life dies inside you while you are alive. Celebrate this event called LIFE.

So, don't even think about what Death brings, is it a new beginning ? Maybe ! who knows but most important think is you are getting a chance to make a new beginning every day and to make the most of it...you have to live in this present moment and make the most of it.

Rediscover your passion

New year is the time when all of us are filled with enthusiasm and new energy. All of us try making new resolutions and fix new targets. I personally find a new lease of energy during this time. I feel that all the things which we have done before is a thing of past now and we get a new chance with the new year. We can start fresh and begin a new life.

This year my resolution is to give time to my passions. In this fast paced life, we hardly get time to devote to our passions. I have been involved in so much work these days that my passions have taken a back seat. I hardly get time to travel hence my passion of photography has also suffered. I don't even get enough time enjoy movies or listen to music and most importantly my passion for games have suffered a lot.

As I was making my resolutions, I saw the promotional video of the Micromax Canvas Tab P666. As I was watching the video I thought, "can these people read my mind ?" It had features which catered to all my needs. I felt like this tab is made for me only.

The gaming kid in me got really happy as the Micromax Canvas Tab P666 has 1.2 ghz intel atom processor and 1 GB ram. It is having fast and responsive hyper threading technology which made me feel really wonderful as it will allow me to play the most advanced games.

The movie buff in me got really happy because the tab has 8 inch WXGA IPS display and 800*1200 pixel screen resolution which will allow me to enjoy movies even when I'm travelling. Since I used to miss watching movies as I was always on the move but now because of this tab I will be able to enjoy movies whenever I like.

The photographer in me got super excited as the tab has a 5 MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera. Now, whenever I will travel, I don't have to worry about taking pictures as I can take good quality pictures using my Micromax Canvas Tab P666 only. Not just the normal pictures but I will be able to take really good quality selfies as well because it has 2 MP front camera.

What's the use of taking pictures if you can't share them but this tab provides 3G connectivity hence we can share as much as we can. Now, I can take pictures or selfies and post them in twitter, Facebook and Instagram instantly.

A general question which arises in everybody's mind is that, what's the battery back up of this device ? Since it does so many tasks and is also good for multi-tasking  hence it requires a good battery because without good battery back up we cannot enjoy all the features properly.

My curiosity was satisfied when I saw that it has 4400 mAh battery, 15 hrs talktime, standby time of 325 hours and browsing time of 6 hrs. The long battery will allow anyone to enjoy movies, games or internet for a longer time.

I felt that this tab is tailor made for all my needs. You can also check it's promotional video and judge for yourself.

Feeling peaceful

In our lives we always try to find the easy way out, we try not to create conflict and in trying to do so we actually create more problems for ourself. As not telling the truth actually creates more problem. At some point what we think is the easy way out in long term it ends up becoming a great problem.

In college days, me and my best friend always used to be together. We played together, studied together and even traveled together. We used to share everything with each other.

In third year while we were managing an event, I suddenly saw some changes in his behavior. He didn't used to reply properly, when I used to tell him some work then he used to do it in a very clumsy manner. His interest towards activities and work was less too. I got really worried as he has never behaved like this. I kept on thinking what was wrong but was not able to figure it out.

Finally, one day during a morning stroll, I asked him that is there any problem you are facing ? He looked at me and said "No, why do you ask ?" I said because you behavior has changed. He looked the other side and said "Okay". I knew there was some problem.

I poked him few more times with the same question and made him a bit emotional with my sentimental dialogues which finally made him speak. He told me that some juniors told him that he will always remain No.2 as I take all the limelight during announcements and in the stage performances.

When I understood the problem and came to know the truth. It made me feel relieved as I knew what was the problem and what I would have to work on. We discussed the whole matter in detail and after hearing each other's point of view we figured out the solution and the path forward. This gave both of us mental peace.

I managed the stage time accordingly so that he gets some limelight as well and told him to go for announcements without me. This started working as he understood that this was not such a big problem. He also understood that how some people were just playing with his emotions and were trying to sabotage our friendship. We confronted the same people together and made sure that we don't give people like them any other opportunity to create differences between us.

With time, he understood that though he took some responsibilities when he was feeling hurt but he never liked doing them. He again shifted back to the work he liked doing of organizing and maintenance.  This incident taught us the importance of communication and sharing truth with your loved ones. After sharing truth with each other about we felt, we actually made our bond more stronger which won't get affected by any such misunderstanding created by other people. I can definitely say that telling the truth in this situation was the right thing to do and made all the difference.

When Kejriwal shops from BaggOut

Arvind kejriwal has been a trendsetter in politics by implementing new and innovative ways of doing politics and involving people in the process of decision making. When BaggOut gave me the opportunity to select a personality to write about his hypothetical shopping experience then my obvious choice was Mr. Kejriwal for his experimental attitude.

Death of a rich man

It was raining since the last night. The sun was hardly visible and it was barely morning. Mohan like everyday was awake before the sunrise. His son, Ram, who sleeps everyday when his father leaves was also awake today.

Looking at his father getting ready he asks "where are you going today ?" Mohan got furious to his question. "What do you mean Ram ? I'm going to my work. The same work which has helped me feed this family and given me a respectable life."

His son Ram wasn't pleased with the answer. He stands up and looks towards his father. Isn't your master dead ? I heard he died yesterday and none of his family was there. Mohan's face got filled with anger and sorrow at the same time. "Ram, this is what I have taught you all these years. You should have respect for the man who actually paid your father the salary."

Ram replied " Father, he wasn't actually a man of honor, he made you work like a slave and paid you the bare minimum because of which we were never able to save any money. Even his children never used to see his face, he died alone and I think maybe his children won't even come to perform his last rituals."

Mohan's anger was increasing, "I feel ashamed to call you my son" I may not have been rich with wealth but I always loved you and always gave you the best I could. You have had everything that I never even imagined that I could have in my life. You have got good education and have you forgot what I always teach you ?

Ram in his low voice replied " I remember, a rich man is not a man with wealth but a man with good education and love in his heart." Mohan said "then where is your love, you have let money over power it. This is my last day there, I want you to come with me."Ram looked at his father and with a bit of hesitation said " Fine, but I won't saty long"

The huge house of Mohan's master was filled with many people today. Everyone he knew was assembled to witness his last rights being performed. Among all the people his children were missing. They will be able to come latest by tomorrow. Mohan looked at his master's wife and asked we would have top start the ritual who do you want to sit for this ?

The master's wife in her shivering voice said "Though my children should have done the rituals but he wasn't that lucky but I see you have brought your son here, I think he must do it." Mohan looked with surprise towards his master's wife and then towards his son.

My dad : A man of inner steel

I would like to start this post by a poem written by me for my father. This poem is my tribute to my father.

My school used to reward students who would be regular in their class. I was very serious about it, my parents always encouraged me to go that extra mile. I was in class 5 when one day I woke up and heard that there is a protest going on in the city and no vehicle can ply on the roads. I tried to confirm with my school that have they announced a holiday but they said the school will remain open and the classes will take place even of one student comes to class.

I told my father about this. He said "if the school is open then you must go, so get ready, I will drop you there". Without wasting any time he started his scooter which was the most popular mode of travel that time and we started our journey. After covering few miles, we noticed that the road was blocked. My father asked the protesters to let us go as I was having my school. They politely replied that if they allow us to go then everyone will come to them with excuses and the whole protest will fall apart. My father dropped his vehicle at one his friends house which was near to the place where the protest was going on and started walking.

I asked him, why did we dropped the vehicle there ?  He replied "they will not allow the vehicle to pass but we can walk through the protest." I was surprised to listen what he was saying. My school was still 7-8 kms and the heat was already wearing me down. I didn't question him and just followed his lead.

We crossed the protest and kept on walking. After sometime both of us were not feeling that well. My father suffers from bronchitis and he started coughing. I asked him if he wants to rest then both of us could stop. This protest is a natural problem and is same for everyone, there is no need to exert ourself so much. People will understand.

He stopped and replied, "it doesn't matter who will understand your problem but one thing will be clear that you didn't gave 100% to the task in your hand. You will always have this guilt that you didn't deserve this award as you skipped one day because everyone else also skipped it. If we fail, we fail but we will give it our best shot."

We again started walking and he kept on coughing throughout the journey but it never stopped him from putting his foot forward. We reached our school, there was hardly anyone in the school but as he said it doesn't matter. The teachers were present and they really praised me for my persistence and interest to attend the school but in my heart I knew all that these words of praise were for my father.

At that time I didn't noticed but later realized that he also went back walking the entire stretch. For me he is the man of inner steel. Who didn't brake in front of adversity and motivated me to fight against all odds. He exemplified the hard work and "will" that is needed to succeed in life.

It is not about a single incident that inspired me but the way he conduct himself in his day to day life is what makes him my role model. #MyRoleModel

I remember a time when the government stopped the salary of the university professors because of their protests. Though he wasn't the part of the protest he showed solidarity by supporting other professors on their agitation. Nobody was receiving any money for months when suddenly a person from the government came to iur house and told my father that since he and some of the other professors who weren't part of the protest will be given full salaries if they just sign the paper saying that not all professors were in support of the protest.

Financially we were in a tough spot, he was given a week to reply. He discussed this proposal with us and asked us what we think about this ? All of us were silent. We just waited for him to speak. Then he spoke in a heavy voice, we could feel the pain in his voice. He said "I won't sign on that paper as it will make the protest of his colleagues look really weak." For a working class person who manages his everything with the salary he earns, it was a tough decision to make as he wasn't salary for months. They kept asking him to sign but he never signed it, though some other professors went ahead and signed the document but he stood his ground like a man of inner steel. He said those people who took the salary were not strong from inside and he never talked ill about them.

It was almost a year when the government decided to accept the wishes of the protesters and the salaries were paid to everyone. Everyone came to our house and hailed his determination that he never gave up even after being tempted to have a easy way out. He is a person of morals and he has imparted the same in his children as well. #MyRoleModel

I think being righteous and not compromising with his morals is what sets him apart from rest of the people. He is widely respected and loved by his students and colleagues. I think the morals and determination which he has are the actually the "inner steel" qualities which makes him a role model just not for his children but for the thousands of students he has taught in his lifetime who still remember him by sending him cards and come to meet him whenever they get a chance.

Here's is the selfie which I took. Though my father was a bit surprised and I felt a bit tired but now when I'm seeing this I feel the "picture looks perfect". :)

I am writing about #MyRoleModel as a part of the activity by Gillette India in association with BlogAdda.com.

Mother : Epitome of love and sacrifice

There was a dangerous thunderstorm that night and the heavy rain has filled the almost empty road with water.

In that low visibility a car was moving in the road at a very high speed, the driver was in a hurry and a bit drunk, he has to reach somewhere fast.

While driving through the street he hears a baby crying very loudly, he was surprised to hear a baby's voice in that silent street and on such a rainy night.

The visibility was not great, the driver tried to look each side of the road so that he could see if the baby was around but suddenly out of nowhere a woman comes in front of his car and he loses the control of his car which end up badly hurting the woman.

The driver ran away with his car, the baby was still crying and was waiting for her mom to come, the woman on the road was badly hurt but still started crawling on that rainy street with a bottle of milk in her hand, she knew that her baby was still hungry.

(Happy Mother's Day to everyone. Do thank her for all the great efforts she has done to make you the person you are. :) :D )

Cricket crazy friends

During my college days me and my friends used to spend the holidays by roaming around in the streets of Delhi. Sometimes we used to go to some popular place other times to a totally new place just to see what's new things we can explore.

During these trips sometimes we used to find places which were really great and where we made it a point to come back again. One among such place was a local dhaba near Malviya nagar. It was late and we were about to go back but suddenly the owner of the Dhaba switched on the TV. He was a big fan of Saurav Ganguly and among our group quite a few people used to like  him. So, when he asked us to stop for the match none of could even think about refusing.

If you are a Saurav Ganguly fan then you would remember those days when he used to play for Kolkata Knight Riders and most of the people from media were against him. These media person don't even understand there negative publicity hurt so many people across the country who love their stars. Surprisingly, Yuvraj was sold for  14 crores this season and have performed miserably but not a single channel plays it in there headlines. So, coming back to the point it was great to find fellow Saurav Ganguly fan during that time.

The Dhaba owner said in this match "Dada" (a name all Saurav Ganguly fans fondly use to call him) is going to score big and win us this match. Though we all secretly wanted his words to come true but at that point told him that looking at his form it may not be possible. So, to see if his prediction becomes reality or not, we all stayed there to watch the whole match.

The night was really special as what he said came true and "Dada" played a brilliant knock and even won the man of the match. We all were really happy and went outside on the streets to dance, yes we were crazy. To my surprise there were hundreds of people on the streets dancing and we also joined the group. After dancing and enjoying for an hour, we sudenly remember to check our mobile phones. We have kept it in the silent mode in one of the bags we were carrying. As we saw our phones we started panicking. We had no clue it was so late and there was around hundred missed calls from our parents. They would have naturally panicked because none of us were picking up the phone. What happened in our home is expected but this was a really night which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

One thing that I love about Starsports.com and how it has changed the way I follow the game is the Action recap feature. We all stay busy the whole day and sometimes we tend to reach home late or don't get the time to follow the game in these times this action recap feature help us to watch the best moments of the match and don't miss out on the game. In less time, we get the chance to watch the best moments of our favorite game.

Should I write my first book

Writing your first book is in the back of the mind of almost every blogger. The food bloggers want to write a cook book. The travel bloggers want to write a travelogue or travel guide kind of a book with all their adventures and experiences and story writers want to publish their novels or their collection of short stories.

Being a blogger we are already publishing our work daily though these works are freely available to the public but still these are creative work. I was recently going through a poem written by a fellow blogger and was mesmerized with it. The quality was so good that it could have easily become part of our academic curriculum.Even some comments stated the same. Similarly I find few very good short story writers who work so hard in their story and publish their work for the readers free of cost. All these are creative works and are publish but they don't get the value they need.

You have to be a published writer to be noticed and even then you are been exploited in the hands of publishers. So, seeing the broad picture if you are a creative writer then you are a born victim and nobody can help it.

I will also add a real story to this, since my family has been in academics from very long time, more than 5 generations. We have known some really great names in Indian academic circle. There was a poet whose poem is part of the CBSE syllabus and almost everyone know him because it is a very popular poem but he hardly used to get any money from his publishers and don't even ask about government help but yes the publisher became rich.

There is no way to check how many books are published and sold though with books being sold on E-commerce site some data is being available these days but most of academic books which are sold from the book shops gets undetected and there is no data available for them.

You will now ask how is all this going to impact your first book, yes these things does impact me. I don't want that other people should get rich with my work, I would rather make my work available to the public free of cost. Why should anyone pay for my work when the profit is hardly going to come to me.

How many publishers give details about the number of books published and sold. This is a open letter and I challenge there will be no publisher who can come out and say that you can check the details on my website. Share it to every author and publisher you know and lets see there response on this.

We are bringing reforms in every sector and it's time for the publishing sector to come clean on this and give the due rights to the authors. Like many of the creative bloggers I have my work ready with me but I am not interested in publishing because I know there is hardly any profit in taking this much toll when you are hardly going to get anything out of it.

Life of Mr.Stinky

This life story is about Mr.stinky who used to live in a beautiful city and had a great life but the only thing that troubled him was his own bad odor.

His best friend Mr.smarty who helped him in every thing was also troubled with this problem because whenever they used to meet Mr.stinky used to smell really bad.

Every Bollywood story has an actress or the love interest. In Mr.Stinky's story it was Ms.lovely. Ms.lovely used to work in his office but whenever he was close to her, she felt awkward because of the bad odor coming from him. In Mr.Stinky's story his own body odor was the villain which never allowed him to get closer to the love of his life. :(

He was in a very pathetic situation. He felt embarrassed because of it every time but was having no solution for it. He used to think a lot about this problem which has made his life hell. His worries were growing everyday.

Even in roads he wasn't able to walk peacefully and people often used to ask him about the foul smell which used to come from him. On some occasions he used to make a sorry face but in other occasions he used to ignore it or lie to them in the face that he wasn't aware of any such smell.

Whatever he may answer but he definitely knew that he was facing a big problem and would have to find a solution for it as quickly as possible.

His tension was growing with each passing moment. The water has gone above his head and he was not able to tolerate any more of this embarrassment and humiliation but he had no solution to this. In his tension, he always used to ask himself "What's the smell boss?" and wondered will he be able to get rid of this smell in future.

Though Mr.Stinky was suffering from a grave problem and was continuously in tension but he never lost the hope. He was a positive person and he was always trying to find a solution to his problem. When he couldn't think of anything, in desperation, he uttered the words - "God, show me a way"

God always come to help those who believe in him and this occasion was no different. This time his best friend was the messenger of god. Like everyday he went to his backyard to meet his friend. His friend Mr.Smarty was having a big smile on his friend. This made him really annoyed as he thought that his friend may be smiling at his pathetic situation but the case was totally opposite.

His friend Mr.Smarty who was also worried about his condition has found a way to solve his problem and get him out of his miseries. Hearing this Mr.Stinky got really excited. He couldn't believe this for one moment and asked him again in suspicion. Mr.Smarty told him that he won't joke about such a serious topic and he was also worried about this problem.

Mr.Stinky was not able to control his excitement. Finally god has listened to his prayers and he won't smell bad any more.He asks Mr.Smarty to break the suspense and tell him about this solution.

Mr.Smarty replied "RACOLD is the solution to your problem" :)

Racold is the solution to all my problems. How is it possible? asked Mr.Stinky. Mr.Smarty knew that he would be asked this question. So, he has already prepared the answer.

Mr.Stinky you should start your week with hot water bath this will remove all the smell from your body by washing of all the sweat and dirt from your body.

Mr.Stinky you should also know that hot water bath just not removes the dirt and smell but also relaxes your muscles. It will make you feel rejuvenated and will be excited to go to work everyday.

Taking hot water bath after a long and tiring day will make you feel calm by relaxing you muscles and relive you from your stress. I know that you suffer from tension a lot so this will also work a stress buster for you.

These are fine but is this bath water safe to use ? This is a very common question people ask my Mr.Stinky.

The scientifically prepared Racold water heater kills 99% of harmful bacteria and hence you get really pure water which is really safe for you bath.

I think I have answered your questions and solved all your problems.

Mr.Stinky was excited and over-joyed to find solution to all his problems. Now Mr.Smarty was waiting for his friend to give a feedback about his suggestion.

The next Monday, Mr.Stinky looked really happy and excited but Mr.Smarty's faced looked pale, even his response was very low as compared to Mr.Stinky.

Mr.Stinky understood that there was some problem with his friend but he couldn't control his excitement. His wish finally came true and he no longer smelled so bad and not just that he was also feeling really relaxed and energetic.

Mr.Smarty was happy for his friend but he was suffering from cold and was not at all feeling well.

Mr. Stinky told him that the solution to his problem was also Racold, which he thought was a joke because he has earlier told Mr.Stinky that Racold was solution to all his problems.

But Mr.Stinky was really serious. He informed his friend that though he may have suggested him about Racold but he himself doesn't know all of it's qualities. Racold water heaters also helps to give relief from cold. The inhalation of warm air during bath eliminates phlegm which is main cause of cold.

Mr.Stinky has returned the favor to his friend.

When you feel good, everything starts working and the same thing happened to Mr,Stinky and his love life started to flourish as well. Maybe God was really in his side. ;) :)
Now, Mr.Stinky has become confident as well and was able to reply to all the people who once made him feel embarrassed. He was awesome now. :)

He was again standing at the same pavement where he used to stand but the only difference was today he was not in tension but he was happy. Racold changed his life. :)

Connecting with mother nature

The influence -

During my childhood and even now, my mother plays a very pivotal role in my life and with confidence I can say that whoever and whatever I have become today is because of her hard work, dedication and her teachings. My mother nurtured me like mother nature nurture the trees and plants. Her teachings shaped up my life and my thought process the same way the nature through the water, sunlight and minerals shape the giant trees.

The teachings -

My mother believe that practice is the only way with which we can develop good habits hence she would always make me do the stuffs which she thought would shape my personality. She would make me do my work religiously. From studies to games, she always pushed me to give my best and become better in it. In this period of growth she also used to take me to our garden and used to teach me about the flowers and the plants.

First contact with nature -

When my mother took me to our garden for the first time, I was really delighted to see all the flowers around. There was one flower which I really liked. It looked so beautiful and felt like paper so I asked my mother, which flower is this mom ?
She replied, it is bougainvillea. I was very young that time and could pronounce it so, I asked her again, which flower is this mom ? but this time she didn't replied anything.

The next day she brought me a book which contained the pictures of flowers and their name. The third page had this flower which I saw yesterday and I read it's name "bougainvillea". I could see the affection and pride in her eyes. I remembered all the names of all the flowers that were their in that book. I think this was the defining moment in my life which brought me closer to nature.

Planting the trees -

As I was growing my encounter with nature was growing as well. My mother used to plant all kinds of plants in the garden. One day she took me to the garden and told me to plant some seeds on the soil. I didn't asked any question, I was happy that I was allowed to play with the soil and water. I planted those seeds and looked towards her. She said "yes, it's done". I was really happy with her comment but hardly new what was done ?

After a month she brought me back to the same place where I planted those seeds and I found that there was some plants there. I was really happy to see them. She gave me a great lesson that day about planting seeds and if we do plant seeds then in future we will be really happy to see the plants of our work grow.

Growing up phase -

I asked my mother, which plant is it ? She said, "your learning is half done". From that day she told me to give water to that plant. In one week it grew even bigger and some green colored fruit was coming out. I was really excited to see that and ran to my mother to inform her about the great "accomplishment". she was happy to see me that excited and came with me to the garden. This day I again asked her which plant is it mom ? She replied, it a tomato plant and when this plant will grow up this will give many tomatoes which you will be able to eat.

I was really happy that I grew a plant all by myself though with huge amount of help and guidance from my mother.

Another lesson was learnt that if you work on something continuously then it is going to give you great dividends in future. You just have to keep working on it.

Current day -

As I was growing up I planted many plants we even have bitter gourd plants in our house but with time I suppose we get busy with our lives and lose contact with nature. Though I still water the plants on some occasions.

Bitter Gourd flower from my garden
I think many people may have eaten bitter gourd but I think hardly anyone would know that it grows from this yellow flower. First this yellow flower grows and then the bitter gourd grows from this.

Connecting with nature -

I think I have been great impact of nature in my life and it has become such a integral part of my life that even when I'm out travelling, I keep taking pictures of the various trees, plants and flowers.

These are some of the pictures that I have taken and you can find more pictures on my travel and photography blog processing the life.

Revisiting memories -

It was a month back when we bought our monthly grocery and was checking the things that we bought. My sister found something which caught her attention. She asked me "Why is the kissan sauce having a different kind of cap ? It amused me at first and then two of us went close to look at it.

We were really glad to know about the kissanpur initiative by kissan to bring people specially kids close to nature. I think if this initiative was done in my childhood then I would have definitely starred as kissanpur hero.

The surprise -

When we took of the cap we found tomato seeds inside it and we became really excited and like our childhood days, me and my sister ran to show these seeds to my mother. She was pleasantly surprised as well.

This time around, she asked us, what are you going to do with these seeds ? and we said nothing but took her to our garden and planted the seeds in the soil. I think we were seeing the same pride in her eyes which we used to see in her eyes when we were young and she used to teach us how to plant the seeds.

Our mother had a huge role in bringing us closer to the nature and I thank kissan as well for bringing those memories back into life.

Giving back to nature -

Giving back what you have gained is the rule of the nature and being a grown up now, I really enjoy playing with the kids of my house and telling them the importance of nature.

These are my little ones of my family and I really like teaching them about nature.

Pictures are from processing the life.

10 questions I hate being asked

I don't give much value to the things I don't like. I never hated something in my life but yes during my childhood I disliked being asked these questions repeatedly.

1. What's your name ?

2. What's you father's name ?

3. What is the meaning of your name ?

4. Where do you live ?

5. Which school do you study ?

6. Which class you are studying ?

7. What is your favorite subject ?

8. Who is your best friend ?

9. Whom do you like more, mother or father ?

10. Which sport do you like ?

That's not all. If you answer them then there is the "why" question which starts and they will keep poking you till you stop answering.

Then they have a big grin on their face like they have won a war and proudly tell your parents. That's fine, he's just a child. He may not know this much.

Stop torturing the kids every time you meet them.

Name represents tradition

This week's Indispire topic was to write about your name and if you like it or not? I think the after reading a few posts, it became a little monotonous. I didn't felt like writing the post but still forced myself into writing one.

The answer to the question asked is really simple, I like my name and I use it in all my blogs and social accounts. I think "alias" are not for me. I'm actually really "proud" of my name. Ah! the meaning of my name is also "pride". It's a common Indian name and since most of the Indian parents have a lot of expectation from their child and feel that they are going to do some great work one day hence they give them really meaningful names.

My name was actually given to my father which was later changed due to some family ritual and norm. Every traditional Indian family has the ritual where the new born is given an auspicious name. So, his name was changed but I think he really liked. So, he named me Gaurab.

I believe our name is our most important identity and it defines not just our personality but also our family and our tradition. We carry our family name with us and as I said naming ceremony has huge importance hence a name is given after a lot of discussion and thought going behind it.Interestingly, my younger brother (cousin) has the same initials "GM" like me and so is most of my family members :D

Smelly encounter and Why you should take bath daily ?

I think everybody remember their school days and specially those times when they have enjoyed the most. Winter camps in school are one such experience which people don't forget. Our school used to follow the tradition of winter camp religiously and we used to stay in the school for around 3 to 4 weeks of intense study and sports (read physical activity) sessions.

This is not a very good incident that happened to me during my school days and I preferred not to share till date. I think there was no reason as well to share a smelly story on my blog.During school days children do think that they have grown up but in reality they are still not adults. I don't mean that adults don't smell bad but in case of young boys and girls because of carelessness and lethargy there are more number of people who smell "bad".

During those winter camps most of us used to sit at our preferred seats. The teachers were not that strict during that period, which allowed me and my friends to sit together and keep on chatting. There was a girl in our group who used to sit next to me in the class. After one week of winter camp I noticed that there was a bad odor coming from her. I felt like asking her #WhatsThatSmellBoss. If only hostels would have had Racold water heater.

At first I tried to ignore her and thinking that since all of us here working so hard from day to night, a person may forget or didn't get proper time to have a bath. When it continued for 2-3 days I thought it might be that she might have some problems and it won't be polite to tell her on the face that she is smelling so bad.

Though the smell stopped for few days after that but it again started coming after few days and being a polite person I am (which wasn't turning out to be a good virtue to have in this case) this time again I thought it won't be polite to mention this to her. Though this time the smell didn't stopped after few days rather it started increasing everyday. After few days it became unbearable to sit beside her.

As I said earlier in my post that being in school we might feel that we are grown up but actually we are not and tend to childish things and in this case she wasn't taking a bath I suppose :P :D I actually wouldn't have any problem but she was sitting next to me everyday and I had to bear that stinking smell.

Funny part about these stinking smells is that they actually don't trouble their owners but only their neighbors and near-dear ones. In this case it was me who was feeling miserable because of this stinking smell.I felt like asking her #WhatsThatSmellBoss but kept that thought to myself. Since the winter was very cold that year in New Delhi hence there were many like her in the school. Though we had hot water for bathing in the hostel but for that they had to take bath early in the morning, which these lazy souls can't even think of doing during the winters.I felt like donating a water heater to the hostel. ;) :)

I actually felt like telling them the profits of hot water bath. If only they new these facts during that time, I think they wouldn't have skipped taking bath a single day. To maintain a good health it is required to take bath daily. I know many children and even a lot of parents don't know these facts and this may be the only reason that they don't make it a regular habit. I think everyone should take bath daily and it should become an integral part of your life. Parents should inculcate the habit of taking bath daily to their children as this will not only keep them healthy now but in long run they will have a healthy and good life.

I chalked out a plan to save myself from this miserable situation. I asked my friend who was a very straight forward person to sit next to her and I shifted myself one seat. I knew he was a kind of person who would definitely tell her about the bad odor and that is what exactly happened. Within minutes of him sitting next to him, his expressions changes and I knew my plan was working.

Few minutes later, he asked her that does she have a deodorant in her room? She said yes. So he replied "you should apply that everyday without failure". I think she might have got the point and in a way that wasn't that rude as well.

From the next day few days there wasn't any smell and on few days we used to get some beautiful fragrance of the deodorant. No prize for guesses, bad habits subtle leave. One thing was good that I could sit in a pleasant environment.

I felt like asking her many times #whatsThatSmellBoss but I refrained myself from doing that. Maybe you shouldn't be so polite. What do you feel ? How would you deal with this same situation ?

My suggestion for all the parents will be -

Hot water is also good for people who are working. As taking a hot water bath after a heavy day's work relaxes your whole body and clams you down. It works as a stress-buster. I think there won't be a single person who doesn't want to be stress-free in his or her life. Specially when you come home to you children, you want to be stress free and want to enjoy your time with them.

I think child learn a lot of things from there parents if a parent is having some good habit then it is automatically inherited by the children. So, maintaining a good health and taking bath daily will also make your kids inherit those habits.
